Frequently asked questions
Our workshops are designed for adults who want to get creative with clay, whether you’re a total beginner or have a bit more experience. Each session is relaxed, supportive, and all about having fun while you learn.
Not at all! No prior pottery or art skills are needed. We’ll guide you through each step, and you’ll have plenty of freedom to explore your own ideas.
Hand building uses tools and your hands to turn slabs and coils of clay into pieces like mugs, bowls, or sculptures — no wheel needed. It’s relaxed, creative, and great for beginners.
Throwing is done on the pottery wheel, where you’ll learn to centre and shape clay into vessels like cups or bowls. It’s a bit more technical but very satisfying once you get the hang of it!
Both our hand-building and throwing workshops are beginner-friendly and equally rewarding — just pick the style that appeals most!
You’ll have the chance to create your own unique pieces, depending on the type of workshop you choose (hand-building or wheel-throwing), from mugs and bowls to decorative items or small sculptures. If you already have a project in mind, feel free to bring along your ideas or inspiration.
Clay can get a little messy! We recommend wearing old clothes. Aprons are available, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
Our regular sessions run on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 2–4pm.
If you’d like to arrange a different time, just let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate you!
All workshops are enquire-to-book. Simply fill out our contact form or email us to let us know what you’re interested in, and we’ll get back to you to arrange a date.
Your creations will be bisque fired in our kiln. Please allow up to 4 weeks for firing and cooling. Once ready, you can either collect your finished pieces or return for a glazing workshop to decorate them.
Yes! We offer separate glazing workshops where you can add colour and finish to your bisque-fired pieces. You’ll be contacted when your items are ready for glazing.
All workshops take place in our home pottery studio in Titchfield Village, where we make and fire all our own ceramics!
Each workshop lasts around 2 hours, enough time to get hands-on with clay and create something special.
